Legalization of marijuana

Hey there! I hope everyone is safe and sound.

Today I thought about writing my opinion on the legalization of marijuana because it’s a popular topic nowadays.

As you may know, marijuana comes from a plant called cannabis and this is used for multiple uses: as a drug, as alternative medication for some illnesses, as an oil for massages, etc. This “drug” is legalized in a lot of parts in the world but in Latin America is still very rare to find it legalized. It isn’t in Chile, for example.

This year some researchers did a study that revealed that Chile is the third largest consumer of marijuana in the world, following Israel (first place) and the USA (second place). The thing is that it is illegal in here to plant and sell marijuana, and smoking pot in the open is illegal as well. So if you’re caught, you could go to jail for smoking a joint. But, is that reasonable?

In my personal opinion, I think it’s ridiculous. I don’t know about other drugs but marijuana has proven to be beneficial for treating diseases such as epilepsy and even some types of cancer, and it’s a recreational drug that has no side effects such as violence or hallucinations. In fact, I think that if it was legal and it was sold on certain drug-stores under regulated parameters, it would be safer to consume it than it is nowadays since many people illegally buy from others.

What do you guys think? Should Marijuana be legalised in Chile or in your country? Why?

My future job

I would to go to a german university called Rostock to make a master with my instrument  with a very good chilean teacher who lives there and he is a proffesor, his name is Ignacio Garcia. He is very good qualified in this instrument, besides he is the major horn player at the Opera
of Berlin.

This kind of job demands lots of time on tours, so I will have to travel with the orchestra I will be working on. As there is no many horn players being one is such a great deal, because the salary is very good, even though you don't have much qexperience, but if you have the major grade they treat you with much respect.

My dream is to settle down in Europe as a musician, because the artistc environment is very high, there is so many orchestras  and I think I amvery capable to get a job in one if them. This situation is very different of what we have here in Chile just thinking in how it is very difficult for a musician to get a job in one of the few orchestras that exists this fact makes me afraid of my future and I am not so optimistic about how this thing will be in the near future. Chile is not a good place for an artist, salaries are awful so I think that best thing I can do for being a horn player is to get away from here for a very long time, perhaps when I get older I can come back and work here.

Split

I was thinking what I could write this time in this blog and I thought writing about one of my favorite movies would do. So here goes Split, one of my all-time favorites.

Split is a movie that was in 2016 and it was directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

Anyway, the main character is Kevin, a man with multi-personality disorder. He kidnaps 3 teenages and keeps them in a basement. Kevin's different personalities get to meet and interact with these girls and he starts to lose control over the whole situation.

This movie is one of my favorites because James McAvoy performance is pure brilliance throughout the movie, and althought the plot is a bit scary, sometimes it's funny too.

Nevertheless, if the main character wasn't played by James, I wouldn't like it this much because James McAvoy is such a good actor.

I've still not watched Glass (2nd part) but if James McAvoy acts in it as well, then it will be fun too so I'm looking forward to watch it.
