A short time ago I went to listen to an incredible concert performed by the London Symphonic Orchestra. This concert has been one of the most beautiful concerts I've been lucky enough to attend, mainly due to the performance of the musicians cause it truly was incredible. It has made me think it was a once in a million experience. Actually, this orchestra is ranked as one of the best that exists nowadays.
The best thing about this concert was that its director was the reknown Sir Simon Rattle. On this occasion, the repertoire I heard was Gustav Mahler's fifth symphony, which coincidently happens to be my favorite. This invitation was given to me by one of the musicians who were playing at the time.
I will certainly never forget what this concert made me feel: at its very beginning, it was so exciting that I could not hold back the tears. And the best thing is that it was played at the CorpArtes Theater here in Chile, which I think is the best theather in Santiago.
The Orchestra also played a Benjamin Britten's requiem. Funnily enough, I had never heard about that requiem before but they played it so flawlessly that it felt like a love at first sight (or hearing).
